国防部新闻发言人任国强表示，10月12日，中印两军在楚舒勒举行第七轮军长级会谈。双方重点围绕两国一线部队在中印边界西段实控线地区脱离接触坦诚、深入和建设性地交换了意见。双方认为本轮会谈是积极和建设性的，增进了对彼此立场的相互理解。双方同意继续通过军事和外交渠道保持对话沟通，尽快就脱离接触达成双方都能接受的解决办法。双方同意认真落实两国领导人达成的重要共识，不让分歧上升为争端，共同维护边境地区的和平与安宁。
Defence ministry spokesman Senior Colonel Ren Guoqiang said，on 12 October the 7th round of Senior Commanders meeting of India and China was held in Chushul. The two sides had a sincere in-depth and constructive exchange of views on disengagement along the Line of Actual Control in the Western Sector of India-China border areas. They were of the view that these discussions were positive constructive and had enhanced understanding of each other’s positions. Both sides agreed to maintain dialogue and communication through military and diplomatic channels and arrive at a mutually acceptable solution for disengagement as early as possible. Both sides agreed to earnestly implement the important understandings reached by the leaders of the two countries not to turn differences into disputes and jointly safeguard peace and tranquility in the border areas.
